Fusion Korean food is slowly stepping into the mainstream of American food culture. A Korean style hotdog released was selected as the next rising "It Item."

Newyork.metromix.com, a popular food and entertainment website on Feb. 21, 2010 disclosed that New York Hotdog & Coffee, a U.S. hotdog franchise, came on top of the list for best brands of hotdog for 2010 in New York.

New York Hotdog & Coffee serves a fusion style hotdog that combines Korean ingredients with one of America's favorite snack foods. The results are the bulgogi (Korean marinated beef) hotdog and dakgalbi dog (grilled chicken sausage topped with spicy marinated chicken).

The chain competed with the city's four other popular hotdog nominees, including "Bark Hotdogs" and "Crif dogs," "Dogmatic Gourmet Sausage System" and "Willie's Dawgs." There were several rounds of e-voting. Metromix has been introducing the best restaurants in New York, grouped by genre, every year.
