I
recently read the book Life's Golden Ticket by author Brendon Burchard. The 3
Questions he asks throughout the book are:
1. Did I Live?
2. Did I Love?
3. Did I Matter?
As
we look back upon 2011 it's probably fair to say you've had some challenges of
your own. It's easy to get caught up in doubt, frustration or fear. It may be
easier to 'play it safe' and not rock the boat with challenging conversations
in your relationships.
And yet, when we hold ourselves back from having real conversations, about real emotions in real-time, we can damage our relationships by merely not showing up for the exchange. Here are some additional questions I invite you to consider in reflecting on these 3 keys:
Did I Live?
- Did you embrace the moments of laughter in between the challenging times?
- Did you take action in spite of your fears?
- Did you try something new?
- Did you celebrate the magnificence of your own spirit?
Did I Love?
- Did you find forgiveness with those you love?
- Were you open to receive love & adoration?
- Did you allow yourself the opportunity to be vulnerable?
- Did you celebrate the caress of
the sun on your skin, the cool breeze across your face and the warmth of a real
kiss?
Did I Matter?
- Did you tell the people you love that you care?
- Did you help someone in need, even once?
- Did you do the best you could, no matter where you were at in your life, in any given moment?
- Will someone remember your kindness?
As you reflect back on 2011 and make your choices for 2012, take a moment to celebrate your spirit and acknowledge the investment you made with every step this year. You lived. You loved. You mattered. Often the gift is in the stillness of being. Be. Blessed.
