Sometimes when we experience challenge in our lives, we isolate instead of reaching out to our friends. When they ask us how we are, we reply, "Fine." Come on now, "Fine?" Really? We know we're not fine, and they likely know too, except they may not want to seem nosy by asking you more questions.
Authentic communication is about taking the risk to be honest. With yourself and with people who love and care about you. If you've found yourself isolating even a little, this month's tip is more of an assignment (or maybe even a challenge for some of you). Today, reach out to someone you haven't spoken to in awhile. Call, email, write a personal note and send it the old-fashioned way ... step out of your isolation and connect with someone you care about. Just by reaching out and tapping into the energy of connection instead, you will begin to shift that energy - and be reminded of the wonderful relationships you actually have in your life!
