Turn Self-Deprecation into CELEBRATION!
As we move into the last month of the year, it
is a great time for personal reflection.
Often, January is full of hope and inspiration in the wake of new
beginnings. December can be full of
judgment and self-deprecation. Perhaps
you haven't lost that weight, taken that class, met the man of your dreams,
returned to church, cleaned out the garage or anything else that may have made
it onto your list this year.
Life is about perspective. Infinite possibilities are real and you are always closer than you may think to be Happy Healthy and Fit. With a strong enough belief and willingness to take action the life of your dreams is within reach. The greatest obstacle to Happiness and Health and is not telling the Truth. Exaggeration leads to procrastination.
Learning to be honest with yourself without
creating stories and imaging the outcome and repercussions is the path to
Happiness. Avoiding how you really feel is
avoiding your truth. Staying in
unfulfilling situations is an indication that you don't believe in your own
happiness.
Take a moment to reflect and ask yourself if you are doing everything you could possibly be doing from where you are with what you have to reach your goals. Then ask yourself, are you willing to take the biggest risk of all and face your truth?
Congratulations if you are celebrating a year
of change and transformation. Know that
change and growth is painful, in fact, it is extremely painful. It is not until the pain of making a change
shrinks in relation to the pain of staying the same are you willing to make a
decision and take your life in a new direction.
The wake up call to make a change can come in many forms: divorce papers, past due credit card bills, a pink slip from your job, a diagnosis from your doctor or the button no longer buttoning on your pants. If you are busily self-deprecating, go ahead and stop. There is absolutely no benefit and there is great news. You produced those results and you can produce different results.
As I reflect on 2011, I am proud to say that it
is absolutely the best year of my life.
What started off with divorce papers and a seemingly unfair and
insurmountable pile of debt, manifested into amazing blessings. I created room
for true love and attention to wealth building. Again, life is about perspective. I have created vision boards, learned to follow
my heart and lead others courageously toward their truth.
Being Happy Healthy and Fit begins with a decision to be just that. Start by simply saying it yourself: I am Happy Healthy and Fit. Don't wait one more day to begin your transformation. Appreciate any thoughts of self-deprecation as they are opening your eyes to the possibilities of your highest and best self. Make today a Celebration! Like my favorite Chinese Proverb says, the best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago, the second best time is Now!
