Why is it that we must experience poor health, family crises or even the passing of a loved one to be inspired to celebrate life? To appreciate the people in our lives? To do the things we've always talked about doing, but could never seem to find the time, the money or the courage?

Knock it off. While we make it complicated, life is actually quite simple. We can either be afraid of the situations, circumstances and events in our lives, always putting things off and rationalizing what we're really afraid of, or we can empower ourselves and live full-out by taking action in all the little moments through our fears. Do you want to live by choice or by default?

Here are 3 Simple Ways to Celebrate Your Life Daily - inspired by the recent passing of our Living On Purpose Lifestyle Expert, Laura Anderson.

1. Celebrate the People in Your Life.

Find at least one positive thing you love and appreciate about someone and tell them. Not just on holidays or special occasions, but every time you see them. Text them. Tell them through an email. Leave something wonderful on their voicemail. Then, tell others how fabulous they are.

2. Focus on the Good Stuff.

We all have a story. What happened in our childhood. Health challenges. The economy. Yada yada yada. Ask yourself what the 'gift' is in your stories. There is always something good that comes with our story. We discover ourselves, realize how much we are loved, make powerful connections, we learn more and we live more. Once you recognize what the gift in your story is, reframe it. Reframe how you define your story from a negative experience to a positive experience. It is from that space of focusing on the good stuff that you will move out of anxiety, anger and frustration to celebrating each moment more fully.

3. Play MORE!

We all take life - and ourselves too seriously. Make time in your life to PLAY! Listen to fun music, go kick the soccer ball with your kids, take your daughter to the spa for a pedicure and spend some quality time together (or go with a girlfriend!) Allow yourself to be silly, to giggle and even act like a kid sometimes. Paint your toenails red, take a bubble bath, go dancing, laugh more. Whatever you feel like you're just "too mature" to go do, or have been wanting to do and haven't made the time, make the time and just do it.

Stop waiting for something bad to happen to inspire you to celebrate your life. Start NOW & start celebrating!
