"Touch": be in contact; to join, unite, come together; feel, caress; understanding; influence; inspire; affect
The human body has a biological need for touch. The average human body has 18 square feet of skin with approximately five million tiny nerve endings that act as transmitters of sensation.
A simple touch can convey trust, affection, presence and love. It can also convey lack of presence, insecurity and anger. A firm handshake communicates confidence and trust, whereas a limp handshake leave you with the heebie jeebies because the person doesn't seem like they are even connecting with you.
"Touch is a language that can communicate more love in five seconds than words can in five minutes." Ashley Montague
