Tea Tree essential oil is a miracle oil. This single essential oil has anti-infectious, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antiviral, fungicidal, immunostimulant, parasiticide, and bactericidal properties.
You can use if for abscesses, acne, athlete's foot, blisters, burns, bruises, chicken pox rash, cold sores, dandruff, herpes, insect bites, oily skin, rashes (diaper), warts and infected wounds.
It aids with asthma, bronchitis, catarrh, coughs, sinusitis, tuberculosis, and whopping cough.
AND it strengthens your immune system leaving you less vulnerable to colds and flu. It's especially important for today's traveler with H1N1 breezing in and out of airports.
Aside from clutching my handy dandy essential oil bottle on trips, I've recently added tea tree oil bath products as essentials for traveling. Simply showering and shampooing with a tea tree bath product reduces risks for all skin problems since it is an antibacterial.
This recent addition to my travel essential list is because two months ago, I got a boil. I got a boil on my upper inner thigh and I could not walk for the throbbing pain. It was unreal. If you've had one, you know what I'm talking about. I actually had to resort to pain killers. I couldn't sleep. I was stuck in a hotel room. It was supposed to be my vacation. It was annoying and frustrating ... ... ..and ridiculous.
This tip is especially important if traveling in tropical weather. Boils are very common when the weather is hot and humid. Tea Tree oil soap will reduce your risk of spending your vacation in a hotel room, like I did. (my daughter kept getting sties (boils) near her eyes so I had her start washing her face with tea tree oil soap and we haven't had any problems for two years. Too bad I wasn't following my own advice!!!)
