The international phone number for EMERGENCY is 112.
This is handy because in New Zealand it is 111, in the US it is 999, confusing!!! You can call 112 from anywhere in the world and know that it will automatically go through to the nearest local emergency services, I have used it. Put it on your mobile phone so when you are 'roaming' you have it there ready.
Here's hoping because you have the number, you will not need it!
