If you want a concrete way to have an environmental impact, the month of March begins The Great American Clean Up campaign across the country by Keep America Beautiful (KAB). Each year 1,000 local KAB affiliates, in neighborhoods and communities near you, plan clean up events from March 1 - May 31. You can make it a family affair; recruit your church, your local business chamber, or a team from work.
"This year, an expected 3 million volunteers will get involved and let "green" start with them by participating in 30,000 community improvement activities and educational workshops happening in over 17,000 communities nationwide. All will spread the message of individual responsibility to keep America's communities clean, green and beautiful."
