Most people purchase their lemons at a store. How do you know you are getting the best lemons you can? Choose smooth-skinned lemons that are heavy for their size. Also look at the stem end of the lemon for the little lines radiating out of the stem. The greater the number of these lines, the higher the mineral content of the lemon.
