...Not everyone loves your dog as much as you do.

The other morning, I was chatting with my running partner outside of my home after our run. The next thing we knew, a woman was walking her dog (who was not on a leash) and the dog proceeded to sniff my running partner's butt. She is not a dog-lover and was obviously uncomfortable with the canine's actions. The dog's owner let her dog continue with the sniffing and failed to call the dog away. Finally, the dog become disinterested and left on its own accord. But this event has led both my running partner and me to believe that all dog owners think everyone else should love their dog and put up with their indiscretions. Here's a piece of advice to all dog owners: Make sure your dog is on a leash and keep your dog away from strangers - unless the stranger has asked to interact with your dog. It is simply rude to let your dog sniff anyone's butt - especially a stranger's butt. This may seem obvious to some of you, but apparently it's not obvious to everyone so I felt compelled to put it in writing.
