There's no question that most of us are aware of the environmental crisis but some products are more fun, more chic - than others. Here a few ways to put the "cool" into protecting the planet.

Check out the new $6.00 organic tee shirts by Norma Kamali at Wal-Mart!! You'll buy them by the handful and get lots of compliments on your fashion savvy.

Leverage your inner fashionista and keep millions of paper and plastic bags out of landfills by collecting stylish recyclable shopping bags. Keep a few in your car, your purse, and your luggage. I have several but my favorites are black and white awning stripes, PVC coated so spills can be easily wiped. They were less than $4.00 at IKEA, and so super cute I love taking them to the grocery story with my foldable shopping basket.

Save money when you entertain and benefit the planet by getting farm fresh produce at your local farmers market. When you source your food, less than 20 miles from where it's grown you reduce carbon emissions. An added bonus is the variety of heirloom vegetables, gourmet pastas, and fresh herbs available at a fraction of the cost. Be chic, eat fresh, save the planet.
