Rotate your collections with the season. If you're a collector, it's easy for your house to become overwhelmed with clutter. Any good Interior Designer will advise you to "edit each room carefully, and then edit again". By showing only one collection at a time, you allow visitors in your home to truly see and appreciate the beauty of your possessions.

When guests return to your home months later they are delighted by the new visual treat rather than the same staid scenes people often have for years on end. Before long, as you rotate your collections, you will get a reputation for your novel dcor. With the change of season friends will ring up asking to come by to see your latest display!

The secret to successfully implementing this is securing a space in your home to store your collections when not in use. A closet lined with shelves (or a fancy armoire) becomes Alibaba's Cave when decked out with multitudes of collections. Having the collections in a central spot gives a spot for you to find inspiration and contains the clutter away from prying eyes.
