I recently attended a holiday meal at my friend's house. Since she didn't ask me to bring a part of the meal, I felt it important to bring a hostess gift. I brought it to her home, handed it to her and she placed it down without looking at it. The event took place a couple of days ago and I haven't heard from her since. Did she like my gift? My friend's behavior was incorrect and bordering on impolite. She should have accepted the gift, opened it and made a comment. If she didn't have the time to open the gift right then and there, she should have said that she will open it later and then call me to thank me for the gift.
