"I dwell in possibility." Thank you Emily Dickinson for that wonderful thought!
Let's give
ourselves that experience this month - yes,
just dwelling in possibility! We do
that so rarely and it's not really practical since we have so many
responsibilities and "to-do's," right?
Well ... I disagree and am here to give you permission to do this and to
tell you that you deserve it! You are a
creative, fabulous woman, right? Right!
So, let's start dwelling ...
What is possible for you? What is your potential? What can you do? What can you create? What are you capable of?
You remember when you were a child and in your imagination you could be anything and go anywhere? Whether you had a good childhood or not, there was probably some time in your life when you disappeared in your mind and became something else and went somewhere else. And, you imagined that something else was possible - something special ... just for you.
Possibility begins with a thought; a willingness to withhold your current assumptions and explore something new, something different.
Take a moment and close your eyes ... take a couple deep, really deep, slow breaths ... and imagine a place where you are shining, you are glowing - What are you wearing? Imagine your smiling face, your bright eyes, your beautiful hair. What is around you? What do you see? What do you hear? What do you smell? How do you feel in that wonderful place?
That wonderful place IS your possibility! You can "dwell" in it for as long as you like and anytime you like ... even at the stop light - it's really no big deal if someone honks at you because the light changed and you didn't go immediately! J
Now, take out all the things you wrote down in Part 1 and 2 of Finding Your Purpose. Take a few moments and reflect on your thoughts about your Ideal Environment. What did you see? What did you hear? Now, look at all the skills and talents you recognize about yourself and that others notice about you.
What if ... ?
Yes, what if ... you existed in that Ideal Environment and in your life you used all your gifts? What would you be capable of? What is possible for you? What can you do? What can you create? (No risk here ... you are just imagining right?)
Take a few moments and write down the thoughts and ideas that come to you.
How do you feel?
Would that experience be worth creating? Are you willing to believe it's possible?
I offer you this ... "The young do not know enough to be prudent and so they attempt the impossible and achieve it generation after generation. Be young!" ~ Unknown
Check back next month for Part 4 and post your possibilities in the Personal Development Forum so we can start sharing with and being inspired by each other's possibilities!
