Who really knows, but they do look good with just about everything and they rarely go out of style. There's an old saying - You can tell a lot about a man by looking at his shoes - believe me, it holds true for women too. So, that said, shoes and boots are an area to spend a good chunk of change.
Fashion note: You can dress up a pair of jeans with an interesting, funky or elegant pair of shoes in a way that most boots just can't compete. As an aside, unless very high, most men find heels sexier than boots.

Heels can be so alluring and fun to wear; they can definitely take an ensemble from Va to Va-Va Voom, but the truth of the matter is that you are on your feet a good chunk of the day. That said, there are heels to walk and stand in and there are heels for sittin' pretty in, it's important to know the difference between the two! The girl walking down the street wincing with every step, looking as if she'd pay top dollar for a pair of flip-flops to ease her pain is not who you want to be.
