Lobby for healthier school lunches and no soda or junk food vending machines. There are many organizations pushing for changes including Obama. Schools that made drastic changes to their menus and cooking styles along with using an organic food supply noticed significant behavioral improvements. It is something you can implement at home too. I know packing healthy lunches is a challenge. I remember trading the "healthy stuff" for Zingers when I was a kid. Still, it is worth the effort for the long term health of your child.
