It was after a minor stroke at 26 in NYC that Dena hired a life coach to help reprioritize her world, her business and her life. The experience actually inspired Dena to leave her marketing and publishing business behind and train as a life and business coach. In doing so she created Chat, Chew and Chocolate which started out as a simple outlet for "inspirational girl time" (over chocolate and wine) for her coaching clients. For the last 10 years she has been empowering and inspiring women ever since. We all know the possible consequences of the "Superwoman Syndrome", for example: burn out, stress, migrains, overwhelm, illness, unhappiness, divorce and maybe even heart disease or death. That is why Dena has dedicated her career to reminding busy women to give themselves permission to slow down, have fun, build positive friendships, step out of their roles, and create strong boundaries. Dena continues to coach and speak along with being the active CEO of Chat, Chew & Chocolate. She is enjoying writing her first two books: The Well-Balanced Superwoman and Powerfully Living. Gracefully Dying. Dena is passionate about giving back to women and girls through many charities. She is the cofounder of The Summer Spaaah Series an Annual summer-long fundraiser that has raised aprx $55,000 for one of her favorite charities, Fresh Start Women's Foundation. She is also a co-founder of The Girls Rule Foundation an organization that helps build self esteem in girls through mentorship and events. Dena is a native of Phoenix, Arizona and has been married 4 years and in 2008 became a new mom to Alexandra Grace. Dena is an award-winning speaker, business owner and event producer. 2007-2009 Awards: * Woman of The Year/January, Clear Channel Radio * New Member of the Year, NAWBO * Event of the Year, AzTec Awards * Best Of Award, New Times Magazine * Platinum Awards, Arizona Foothills Magazine * Athena Powerlink Program, Phx Chamber * Member of the Year, NAWBO * Best Places to Connect, Examiner.com * Spirit of Enterprise Award, Semi-finalist * Best Of, Girls Night Out, Phoenix Magazine Dena Patton Speaker.
