Howdy There Ladies :) Hey Everyone,
I'm super new to CCC. I haven't been to any meetings and I only found this site via looking for volunteer information. I am a full time student at CAC, will have my Associates this coming Spring of 2012 and then plan on going to ASU for a Bachelor's in Nutrition (Dietetics). I am married to my high school sweetheart. No children at the moment, just two cats. I lived in Casa Grande for almost two years, been in Arizona for five, and come from Florida. I'm a homebody and don't like to get out much in this heat. New Woman to the group My name is Christine Cahan and I am new to the area and just found out about this fun little group today so I thought I'd join and add some fun, newness and some funk to this bunch of ladies. I currently stay at home with no children but I have a small disability and therefor nobody will hire me. Their loss not mine. I'm a social, outgoing person who just moved out to the middle of no where with no friends so I am currently very lonely and tired of the four walls of my house and doing things by myself. So I am extremely excited to become a part of a group of ladies and make some new friends. So email me with info about yourselves and maybe we can plan some getting to know you lunches. CCC update-Thank you ladies WOW what a powerful day for WOMEN in Casa Grande. First I attended the Woman 2 Woman conference at the First Presbyterian Church. It was SO beautiful and well done. Thank you to those ladies for having me speak to their group. I would recommend this event to you all for next year. Also, about 8 CCC women were on hand for the high tea and grand opening of the Home of Hope boutique today. It was amazing! I want to congratulate Penny Gore for an amazing and beautifully decorated room. Penny created amazing center pieces for the high tea and Jane Rumolo helped with the fashion show. I'll post the pictures of both of these events in the next couple of days.
Our coffee chat is this monday and it will be full!! I count on our veterans to welcome the new ladies and help mingle with everyone. What an amazing group of women in this chapter!!! Thank you for all you are!

Free Movie - Family Fun March 18th The Presbyterian Church is having a free movie night on Friday March 18th at 6:30pm. They are showing "How to Train your Dragon". Bring a blanket and pillow. The church will have a concession stand to buy drinks, popcorn and such. It's a great church and their 11am Sunday service ROCKS! It's called Connect and is very good.

Jason Robert Brown won Drama Desk Awards for the music and the lyrics for The Last Five Years after the Off-Broadway premiere in 2002 starring Norbert Leo Butz and Sherie Rene Scott. The show has since been produced at almost every major regional theater in the US, and has been seen in Australia, England, Korea, Japan, the Philippines, Germany, Italy, Canada, and Spain. The Last Five Years is an intimate musical about a young couple, Cathy and Jamie, who fall in and out of love over the course of five years. Written and composed by Jason Robert Brown, this musical tells the story of the relationship of Cathy and Jamie in a unique way.
The Last Five Years runs at the BlackBox Theatre from January 21st through January 30th. Curtain for Thursday/Friday shows is at 7:00pm, and curtain for Sunday shows is at 2:00pm. Holiday Party Wrap Up (we collected $6500!) Ladies, we had a GREAT time at the holiday party last night. We had tons of food and sweets and enjoyed chatting with each other by the fire (and by the wine:), but collectively we also collected $6500 from our old gold! That's a lot of extra Christmas money for y'all! Some women got $130-$700 and a few had over $1000 from their gold!!! It was so great to see everyone leave with money! The gold company gives 10% back out of their profits to the chapter (or whoever the host is), so if you want to host your own gold party I encourage you to do so, it's a great way to help your friends make money AND the make 10% (great fundraiser for charities!!). The pictures are in the picture gallery on the casa grande website www.casagrandeccc.com AND don't forget that we are back on schedule: 1st monday in January is coffee and the 4th Tuesday is dinner/Signature event. MARK your calendar and plan around it so you have some fun planned in your 2011.

Urgent Action Needed in Casa Grande-Family in need As most of you know we have a large Border Patrol community in Casa Grande and one of their agents died last week, Michael Gallagher. He left behind two children (1 whom is sick) and his wife. There is a garage sale tomorrow (Saturday) and they need goods to sell and people to buy the goods. If you can take an hour and go through your house for gently used items that can help raise money for this family it would be appreciated. The drop off is today (friday sept 10) 1641 E. vegetable oil 1/2 cup,
rum 1/2 cup,
water 1/2 cup,
nuts optional 1/2 cup,
sauce:,
water 1/4 cup,
rum 1/4 cup,
butter 1/2 cup,
sugar 1 cup,
mix cake ingredients together except nuts. Beat mixture 2-3 minutes.
Place chopped nuts in bottom of well grease bundt pan.
pour batter on top of nuts bake at 350 for 53 minutes
Then, boil all sauce ingredients together for 2-3 minutes. Then pour over cake when cake is pulled from oven.
Let stand for 30 minutes. Serve

Casa Grande Farmers Market In case you have not been in the Historic Downtown every Tuesday from 10 - 2 pm you may have missed the great new Casa Grande Farmers Market. It is expanding every week. We now have a great selection of vendors selling: produce, fruit, eggs, apple butter, BBQ sauce, coffee, pottery, grass fed beef, Italian cuisine from a local caterer along with Stout's great apple pie and cider.
